
Just a little experiment with Ableton Live and the Make Noise NUSS, accompanied by some archival footage of Seattle, circa 1968.


I have a gizmo in my modular rack called “Spectraphon,” which among other things can play back in a variety of ways the harmonic spectra of whatever sounds you feed it. That gizmo features here, but as part of a more generalized heterophony.

Divertimento—divertissement—diversion—it’s all pretty much the same: just some light entertainment.

This is a short tribute to my good friend MIchael Rook, who departed this life much too soon in 2022.

You know, one thing leads to another. That’s one kind of progression. There are others, but they’re not really operative here.
